Town of Arlington Public Schools: Air Quality and Electrification Master Plan
In July 2021, the Town of Arlington issued an RFP to develop a plan to electrify and improve air quality at 6 existing schools. The resulting report from CMTA shows the pathway to full electrification. Because of new clean energy tax credits available through the Inflation Reduction Act along with robust utility incentives, ground-source heat pumps were found to be the most affordable HVAC option, even beating out a more conventional gas boiler option.
