Modern HVAC Campaign
Ground-source heat pumps are a modern, cost-saving, clean alternative to legacy heating and cooling technology in schools. We are leading a national effort to support schools to replace outdated fossil-fuel burning equipment with this technology to achieve reliable heating and cooling, healthy indoor temperatures, and lower operating costs.
Energy Tax Credits for Schools Hub
School districts can access federal energy tax credits though to defray the cost of highly-efficient, modern energy technologies. The hub provides the latest guidance, tools, and videos to help district leaders understand and navigate changes to federal energy tax credits to support healthy, cost-effective, and resilient campuses.
Seal of Climate Literacy
The Seal of Climate Literacy is a formal high school diploma endorsement that recognizes students with climate science, civic engagement, and problem-solving skills. We’re working with Lyra, who first championed the Seal in Colorado, on a national campaign to support new states to adopt the seal and prepare young people with job-ready skills and tools to lead, work, and thrive.

Extreme Weather and Lost Learning Time
Extreme weather is putting student health, safety, and learning at risk across the country. Our Lost Learning Time Map tracks when and where schools close due to heat waves, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and more. We also provide state, district, and local leaders with data, tools, and other resources to help them understand these risks and prepare for a climate-impacted future.
