Pulaski County Schools in Kentucky receives a $1,838,267 check!
PULASKI, KY., June 2025 – Pulaski County Schools received a $1,838,267 reimbursement check from the IRS for ground-source heat pumps installed at Oak Hill and Shopville Elementary Schools. The highly efficient systems, which provide reliable and affordable heating and cooling, were installed through a guaranteed energy savings performance contract (ESPC) with Louisville-based construction and engineering firm CMTA.
The ESPC, completed in 2024, was partially funded by Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds, Kentucky historic preservation incentives, and energy tax credits through a funding mechanism called Elective Pay.
The district worked with Ryan Tax Firm to submit their filing on September 30, 2024. They received $827,220 for the ground-source heat pumps installed at Shopville Elementary School and $1,011,047 for the system at Oak Hill Elementary School.
