Ashland Public Schools in Massachusetts receives a $2,513,940 check!
ASHLAND, MA., March 2025—Ashland Public Schools celebrated the receipt of a $2,513,940 check reimbursement check for installing ground-source heat pumps at David Mindess Elementary School. The ground-source heat pumps provide affordable and reliable heating and cooling for the building, and qualify for energy tax credits through a funding mechanism called Elective Pay.
The district partnered with Owner’s Project Manager firm Vertex, and construction firm Shawmut Design and Construction on the project, which was part of a town project to replace the elementary school.
After completing the project on September 25, 2023, the Town worked with Energy Tax Savers to prepare their IRS filing, which was submitted on November 13, 2024.
On March 21, 2025, the district earned $2,513,940 for the ground-source heat pumps at the school.
