Marion County Public Schools in Kentucky receives a $1,841,882 check!

LEBANON, KY., JUNE 2026 – Marion County Public Schools in Kentucky celebrated the receipt of a $1,841,882 reimbursement check for installing ground-source heat pumps at New Calvary Elementary School. The ground-source heat pumps provide affordable and reliable heating and cooling for the building, and qualify for energy tax credits through a funding mechanism called Elective Pay.

The district partnered with Kentucky-based engineering and performance contracting firm CMTA, Inc. on the project.

After completing the project in December 2024, the district partnered with Energy Tax Savers to prepare their IRS filing, which was submitted on May 11, 2026.

On June 25, 2026, the district received $1,841,882 for the ground-source heat pumps.
