Senate Leaders call for the protection of federal clean energy incentives

On June 27, 2025, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA), member of the Environment and Public Works and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committees, joined by Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) sent a letter to President Trump, Speaker Johnson and Majority Leader Thune about how cuts to federal clean energy incentives proposed in the budget reconciliation bill will harm schools and their communities.

The letter draws on data about school districts’ plans to leverage Elective Pay collected by UndauntedK12 and partners.
