Braham Area Schools in Minnesota receives a $30,571 check!

BRAHAM, Minn., March 2025 — Braham Area Schools received a $30,571 reimbursement check from the IRS for solar energy systems installed across the district. These energy systems, installed by Solar Connection, a Rochester MN based company, qualified for energy tax credits through a funding mechanism called Elective Pay.

After completing the project in August 2024, the district worked with Burkhardt & Burkhardt, Ltd to submit their tax filing on February 26, 2025. By stacking the $30,571 reimbursement with over $194,505 in state funding from the Solar for Schools Program, the district owed just $3,754 on the installation costs, and is already seeing savings on their electricity bills
