Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District in Texas receives a $10,118,729 check!

SAGINAW, TX., January 2026 — Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District received a $10,118,729 reimbursement for ground-source heat pumps installed at the new Eagle Mountain High School, which opened in August 2024. The new school was built by CORE Construction, a national construction firm.

Ground-source heat pumps are eligible for energy tax credits through a funding mechanism known as Elective Pay. The district received over $10M—50% of qualifying costs—for meeting prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements, using domestic content, and being located in an energy community.

The district worked with Walker Blue, LLC to successfully claim the energy tax credits.
