Manchester Public Schools in Connecticut receives a check for $2,462,047

MANCHESTER, CT., February 2026 — Manchester Public Schools celebrated the receipt of a $2,543,454 check for ground-source heat pumps and a solar energy system installed at Bowers Elementary School.

The school reopened in August 2023 following a comprehensive renovation led by TSKP Studio, in partnership with design and engineering firm CMTA Inc., and construction firm O&G Industries. Bowers is the district’s second renovate-as-new verified Net Zero Energy school. 

Both the solar panels and ground-source heat pumps qualify for energy tax credits through a funding mechanism known as Elective Pay. The district partnered with CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) to file for the tax credits and received the $2.4M reimbursement ($1,965,893 for the ground-source heat pumps, $260,447 for the solar panels, and $235,708 in interest ) in February 2026.
