Upper Dublin School District in Pennsylvania receives a $1,418,590 check!

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa., February 2025 — Upper Dublin School District received $1,418,590 in federal energy tax credits from the IRS for installing ground-source heat pumps at Fort Washington Elementary School. Through Elective Pay, school districts can receive direct cash payments for qualifying clean energy upgrades.

After an F-2 tornado from Hurricane Ida severely damaged the school in September 2021, the district combined storm recovery with major building and HVAC upgrades. Construction began in May 2022 and included replacing boilers with ground-source heat pumps. The new system delivers affordable and reliable cooling throughout the school.

Upper Dublin partnered with CMTA and ICS, engineering and facility solutions firms, through a guaranteed energy savings contract.

The district worked with Energy Tax Savers, a professional tax services form, to submit their filing.
