Supporting Michigan schools on the path to healthier, more efficient buildings

Many Michigan districts are exploring projects–such as HVAC improvements–that can make their schools healthier and more efficient while potentially qualifying for federal energy tax credits through Elective Pay. To support this work, the Michigan Infrastructure Office launched the Elective Pay Ambassador Program (EPAP), placing regional ambassadors across the state to help schools and other public entities understand Elective Pay and access technical assistance.

In October, Undaunted met with the Elective Pay Ambassadors to share strategies for connecting with school districts pursuing energy upgrades. We provided guidance on how ambassadors can engage districts, identify projects, and support districts navigating the process.

We’re encouraged by the state’s proactive approach to supporting districts through this program and look forward to continuing to support Michigan schools as they pursue cost-saving, health-improving energy upgrades.
